Movement direction

Elizabeth Svarstad's expertise includes a deep knowledge of movement, etiquette and manners throughout history, covering for example how to stand, walk, and perform bows, and how to use a handkershief, a fan or snuff and other accessories in different historical epochs.

She has done extensive research on social education in history and studied Baroque gesture. As a movement director she has more than twenty years of experience in instructing singers, actors and dancers – professionals and amateurs at all ages and has been involved in opera and theatre productions and in television productions for NRK, TVNorge and Strix.
